Equipped with noise reduction tools to clean up problematic dialogue from the field, Sumsound can mix your doco in a matter of days - ask about our special packages for documentary film-makers

Bluray

Sumsound is the ideal mixing suite for Bluray/DVD soundtracks. We can also create the DTS or Dolby Digital masters for your authoring facility, to ensure your mix sounds as good on the final product as it did in the studio.

Metering to the new standards for HD TV (LKFS and Dialnorm) Sumsound can turnaround your TV mixes quickly and with quality control. We can also provide Dolby E encoded mixes for digital broadcast.

premix

ProTools is the defacto standard for sound for feature film in Australia. With our ICON mixer so tightly integrated to our powerful ProTools rig, Sumsound was designed to slot into the post production workflow, between sound design and dub stage. Affordable weekly dry hire rates are available.

delivery

Once the creative decisions have been made at the dub stage, bring the project back to Sumsound to get your deliverables done quickly and cost effectively. Whether you need Dolby Digital AC3, DTS, or Dolby E encoding, we can provide it quickly, with a minimum of fuss.

editing

Although designed as the ideal theatrical premix room, in partnership with Trackdown we also provide the following services, rounding out complete audio post production for your project, whether big or small

Although Sumsound is primarily a mixing facility, our location in the Trackdown building and previous working relationships make it simple to also provide original scored music for projects, when required. Damien

Damien De Boos-smith

Another great composer inside the Trackdown complex, Damian de Boos-Smith is classically trained on cello and is an accomplished session guitarist and producer, renowned for his rock and pop sensibilities. Having worked many years with Nylon Studios writing and recording ads for Wrigleys, Pepsi, ANZ, Ford, Lovable, Toyota and more, he is also seasoned at writing for TV and short film, having won "Best Original Score" at Tropfest 2001 and scoring the Andrew Denton produced TV series "30 Seconds".

Charlie Chan

Charlie Chan is an Australian musician/composer. During a career spanning almost 3 decades she has written myriad soundtracks, scores and themes for feature films, TV series and theatre productions.A multi-instrumentalist, she is a classically-trained double bass player with a talent for guitar and percussion. Though her favourite instrument is her beloved 10 foot Bosendorfer grand piano. She has released 3 solo CDs - The Adventures of Charlie Chan, East and West and Wild Swans - which capture her unique, improvised style.Credits Include - Me Myself I, Mcleods Daughters, Addiction,Stings Fangs and Spines, Mystery of the Skull, Chinese Take Away, Starting from Zero, The Last Warriors, Persons of Interest

Jason Fernandez

Located in the Trackdown complex, Jason Fernandez is not only an accomplished composer and music editor but couples that with great technical production skill. Jason composes to picture using synthetic, sampled sounds and his scores are modern, edgy and full of contrast and dynamics.

Guy Gross

Guy Gross Music

Guy Gross is one of Australia's leading film and television composers and recipient of the APRA/AGSC International Achievement Award, considered the most prestigious accolade for an Australian screen composer. Guy is a director and partner of Trackdown and his composing suite is located within the Trackdown building. He has an impressive and varied list of credits and there are few composers in the local industry who understand scoring music to picture with Guys experience and skill.

Adam Sofo

Adam Sofo is a Pianist and composer working out of Trackdown Scoring Stage. Adam toured internationally as Keyboardist / Programmer with Aussie rock band Silverchair from 2007-2009 during their most successful period when they made history winning 5 Aria awards in 2008. He also plays keys and programs for Guy Sebastian, Axle Whitehead and toured with many other Australian acts, including Chris Cheney, Josh Pyke, Tim Rogers, Phil Jamieson, John Stevens and Delta Goodram. When he's not touring with bands he can be found composing scores for films and documentaries and producing singer/songwriters in his studio.

background Brent Heber - in house engineerBrent started his mixing career back in the nineties mixing short form advertising for cinema, TV and radio.Since then he's held key positions in the local industry, most notably spending 7 years consulting for Avid Audio.His unique understanding of Pro Tools coupled with his mixing skills and knowledge of film post production make him one of the fastest and most technically compentent engineers in the southern hemisphere.Recent wins include a Screen Sound Guild Award for his mixing on "The Missing Key" - an IF award winning film.Brent also engineered and mixed the score for top rating TV show "Killing Time" starring David Wenham.
